Prime Minister Criticises West Bengal Government Over President’s Event
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticised the West Bengal government and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) following alleged mismanagement at a Santhal community event attended by President Droupadi Murmu. Speaking at a public gathering, Mr Modi described the reported lapse as an insult to the President, the Constitution, and the democratic traditions of the country.
Allegations of Boycott and Insufficient Arrangements
The Prime Minister stated that the TMC had boycotted the programme and failed to ensure proper arrangements for President Murmu. He highlighted President Murmu’s tribal background and her commitment to the welfare of tribal communities, indicating that the event should have been treated with greater respect.
Political Accusations and Public Warning
Accusing the TMC of engaging in “dirty politics”, Mr Modi warned that what he termed the party’s “arrogance of power” would eventually be challenged by the people of West Bengal and across the country.
