India is accelerating its journey toward global AI leadership with a series of strategic events, including the upcoming Regional AI Impact Conference in Rajasthan. This conference, a key precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, will position Rajasthan as a digital innovation hub, bringing together senior government officials from both the state and national levels.

The gathering will serve as a vital platform to explore how artificial intelligence can transform governance, spur economic growth, and foster inclusive development. It will highlight collaborative opportunities between startups, academia, and industry, emphasizing Rajasthan’s dedication to sustainable and ethical AI solutions. Key discussion topics will include AI for public service delivery, ethical frameworks, the future of employment, and the growth of the state’s AI startup ecosystem.

Participants will delve into advanced applications like Digital Twins and AI-led infrastructure planning. A major strategic focus will be examining whether AI can propel India from an outsourcing powerhouse to a global leader in intellectual property. The event will also feature networking sessions and the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen the local AI landscape.

In a parallel initiative, the Human Capital Working Group Meeting will convene in Assam in early 2026. This meeting, involving policymakers and industry leaders, will focus on AI-driven education and workforce readiness. Both events are part of the broader pre-summit engagements shaping the agenda for the landmark India AI Impact Summit 2026.

Outlining the national vision, Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), stressed the importance of making AI a widely accessible “horizontal” technology. He emphasized that context-specific AI solutions in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and education can amplify social and economic impact, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.

The 2026 Summit itself will be guided by three core principles: People, Planet, and Progress. These pillars will be actioned through seven thematic Working Groups covering areas from human capital and safe AI to equitable access and innovation. Preparations have involved global consultations and events in over 25 countries.

Flagship programs like YUVAi and the AI Impact Expo will showcase applied innovations and foster international collaboration. Through these concerted efforts, India is positioning itself as a global leader in responsible AI, aiming to deliver inclusive and sustainable real-world impact for society and the planet.
