The Criminal Court has ordered a 15-day remand for two individuals arrested in connection with a shop burglary. The suspects were apprehended following a police investigation into the forced entry and theft of merchandise.

According to the court order, the arrested individuals are 35-year-old Faris Ali Shareef, a native of Lhaimagu in Shaviyani Atoll, and 46-year-old Ahmed Nasru from Fuvahmulah City. Both men have been remanded into custody to facilitate the ongoing investigation.

The charges leveled against the suspects include unauthorized entry into a premises, theft, and causing damage to private property. During the remand hearing, the Maldives Police Service presented CCTV footage as evidence, which reportedly captured the suspects breaking through the shop’s door and removing various items.

Court records indicate that while Faris Ali Shareef waived his right to legal representation during the hearing, Ahmed Nasru requested the assistance of a lawyer. The police investigation into the matter continues.
