The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) confirmed that their Fire and Rescue Service has been deployed to the affected streets to manage water drainage and provide emergency assistance.

According to official statements, the surge has inundated multiple road sections, prompting an immediate response from authorities to mitigate property damage and ensure public safety. The MNDF is currently utilizing pumping equipment to clear the floodwaters from the urban areas.

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has forecast a period of inclement weather lasting for the next three days. Forecasters anticipate heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the archipelago, with wind gusts expected to reach up to 35 miles per hour during squalls. Residents and travelers are advised to exercise caution as weather conditions are expected to remain volatile.
