The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service successfully extinguished a fire that broke out on the fourth floor of M. Kanimage in Malé earlier today.

According to the MNDF, the incident was reported to the Malé Fire Station at approximately 16:50. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they managed to bring the blaze under control and completely extinguish it by 17:27.

Authorities confirmed that the fire originated from a mattress inside an apartment on the fourth floor. While the fire was contained relatively quickly, four individuals were transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) to receive medical treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.
