The Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has announced that the swimming area at Rasfannu, Male’ City, will be reopened to the public tomorrow morning.
The popular recreational site was temporarily closed in early April this year to facilitate necessary repair and renovation works. While the ministry did not initially provide a specific completion date, officials confirmed this evening that the maintenance phase has been successfully completed.
Originally developed during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, Rasfannu had faced significant neglect in recent years, leading to a decline in its condition. The current restoration fulfills a pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during the local council election campaign to revitalize the capital’s public spaces.
As one of the city’s primary social hubs, Rasfannu serves as a vital location for families and children to engage in leisure activities, swimming, and social gatherings.
