A 20-year-old man has been taken into custody following an attempted robbery and the subsequent obstruction of a police officer performing his legal duties.

The individual, identified as Ibrahim Shayan of Lilyge, GDh. Nadella, was brought before the Criminal Court today. The presiding judge ordered a five-day remand for the suspect as the investigation proceeds.

According to court documents, Shayan was apprehended while attempting to commit a robbery. During the intervention, he allegedly attempted to physically confront the responding officer. Consequently, he faces charges related to obstructing a law enforcement officer in the line of duty.

The prosecution presented several pieces of evidence to the court to justify the detention period, including the initial police incident report and the suspect’s prior criminal record.
