An individual arrested in connection with a case involving the alleged uploading of child exploitation material (photos and videos) to Google Drive and the possession and storage of such content on various electronic devices, has been released from custody.
Ali Naajih Ahmed, 29, of Hulevi, B. Kudarikilu, was initially arrested on February 13th. His remand detention was subsequently extended on two separate occasions.
However, during his third remand hearing, Ahmed was released with conditions, police confirmed today. The specific details of these conditions have not been disclosed by the authorities.
The case against Ahmed is currently under investigation by the Family and Child Protection Department of the Maldives Police Service (MPS). The MPS considers cases involving the possession of child exploitation material, including photos and videos, to be serious offenses and prioritizes their investigation.
