The Maldives’ Green Fund deposits surpassed USD 103 million by the end of September, according to the latest Ministry of Finance Green Fund Report. The country collected USD 5.7 million in green tax during the month, with tourist resorts contributing the majority at USD 5.2 million.

Green Tax Contributions in September:

Green tax is levied on tourists staying in various accommodations, with rates currently set at USD 6 per night for larger establishments and USD 3 for smaller guesthouses and homestays.
