The Ministry of Tourism has officially announced the sale of Kuda Rah Resort, situated in South Ari Atoll (Alifu Dhaalu Atoll), following a formal request to transfer the property’s leasehold rights. In a public notice, the Ministry invited any parties with outstanding debts, legal disputes, or claims related to the resort to submit their concerns within the specified period.
Currently operating as NH Collection Maldives Kuda Rah, the boutique resort was the first property established in the Maldives under the global hospitality giant, Minor Hotels. The resort, which underwent significant rebranding after its acquisition from the Amaya Group and the Baros brand, is a prominent luxury destination in the region. While the Ministry has confirmed the application for the transfer of rights, the identity of the prospective buyer has not been publicly disclosed.
The private island spans approximately six hectares and features 51 luxury villas and suites. Each unit is equipped with a private pool or jacuzzi, with select overwater villas featuring glass-bottom floors. Located a 25-minute seaplane journey from Velana International Airport, the resort has maintained a reputation for exclusivity and high-end boutique service since its inception.
