A man previously imprisoned for agricultural theft has been taken into custody in connection with a violent armed robbery involving sharp weapons. Hussein Irushad, a resident of Mukurimagu in L. Gan, was apprehended following an investigation into a joint criminal enterprise.
According to a remand order issued by the Criminal Court, Irushad is accused of participating in a robbery alongside another individual. Although the suspect has denied any involvement, the court highlighted that CCTV snapshots clearly depict his presence and role in the incident. Police presented evidence indicating that the act was a significant threat to public safety.
This is not the suspect’s first criminal conviction; in 2014, Irushad was sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in stealing chilies from a local farm. In the current case, the Criminal Court has ordered his detention for a period of 15 days as the investigation proceeds.
