Authorities have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a motorcycle belonging to the head of the Foakaidhoo Police Station. The incident occurred late last night while the vehicle was parked near the officer’s residence.

According to a statement released by the Maldives Police Service, the motorcycle was completely destroyed in the fire. The blaze also caused significant damage to the gate of the residence where the officer lives. Officials confirmed that the vehicle was damaged beyond repair.

While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, no suspects have been apprehended at this stage. The police have confirmed that the matter is under active investigation. Historically, such targeted arson incidents involving vehicles in the region have been linked to personal grievances or retaliatory acts.
