In celebration of World Environment Day, the REEF Club has officially inaugurated the “Waste to Wonder” exhibition, a creative initiative proposed by Principal Rinzy Ibrahim Waheed. The event, which opened on Thursday, June 4, aims to raise awareness regarding environmental conservation and the importance of repurposing discarded materials.

The exhibition serves four primary objectives: promoting recycling and sustainable consumption, encouraging creativity through waste repurposing, increasing awareness of sustainable waste management practices, and fostering a sense of environmental responsibility and teamwork among students. The exhibition remains open for public viewing through Monday.

Over the past two weeks, students worked diligently after school hours under the guidance of their teachers to transform plastic, metal, and obsolete electronics into artistic masterpieces. Each item was meticulously cleaned and redesigned, breathing new life into materials that were otherwise destined for landfills. The exhibits are categorized into three main areas: Art and Craft (sculptures and decor), Functional Items (lamps and machinery), and Fashion (clothing and accessories).

Organizers from the REEF Club emphasized that the exhibition is more than a display of talent; it is a profound call to action for sustainable living. The initiative also aligns with the school’s broader ambition to secure the prestigious “Super Fehi Award,” a recognition for institutions that successfully implement the ‘Green School’ concept.

The school leadership expressed gratitude to the panel of judges, Deputy Principals Suwaibath and Fathimath Hilmy, and leading teachers Mariyam Shafeeqa and Aminath Seema for their coordination. The event concluded with a call for the community to commit to waste reduction and environmental respect.
