The Maldives Police Service has apprehended two foreign nationals in Malé on suspicion of illegally possessing, consuming, and distributing alcohol. The arrests followed a targeted operation conducted by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence and the Drug Enforcement Department on July 11.

The suspects have been identified as MD Siam Ahmed, 21, and Robel Miah, 35, both nationals of Bangladesh. During a search of their residence, authorities discovered and seized 12 bottles of alcohol being held for trade.

Following the completion of initial investigative procedures, the suspects were transferred to Maldives Immigration for further administrative and legal action. The police have confirmed that the case remains under active investigation.
