The practical work for the development of 50 housing units in Thinadhoo City has officially commenced. The project’s groundbreaking ceremony was held today, inaugurated by the Minister of Construction, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib.

This initiative operates under a Contractor and Finance model, with Swift Engineering Private Limited appointed as the contractor. The project encompasses the construction of 50 three-room housing units, and the contractor is tasked with completing the work within 450 days.

Dignitaries, including esteemed Members of Parliament representing Thinadhoo constituencies, attended the commencement ceremony, highlighting the regional importance of the project.

Concurrently, the application period for 200 previously constructed housing units in Thinadhoo City has concluded, attracting a total of 1022 applications. The Ministry is currently in the process of evaluating these applications. Upon completion of the evaluation, the beneficiaries of these housing units will be determined and publicly announced by the Ministry.
