Maldivian authorities have apprehended a 27-year-old man in Malé on allegations of possession, use, and trafficking of illicit narcotics. The arrest was executed during a coordinated operation between the Drug Enforcement Department and Counter-Narcotics Intelligence.

The suspect, identified as Sajid Abdul Muhaimin from Abugasdhoshuge, V. Felidhoo, was intercepted on a public street for a search. During the procedure, officers discovered substances suspected to be illegal narcotics, weighing approximately 51.30 grams.

Following his arrest, the suspect was presented before the court to determine his detention status. The presiding judge ordered a 30-day remand in custody while the investigation proceeds. The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the case is currently under active investigation.
