Residents of Fuvahmulah City are experiencing scheduled power outages tonight due to a technical failure in the local power generation system. Fenaka Corporation, the state-owned utility provider, announced that the interruptions are necessary following a malfunction in one of the city’s generator sets.

The load shedding began at 6:00 PM and is projected to continue until midnight. According to Fenaka, the outages are being conducted on an hourly rotation across six distinct zones within the city to manage the load. The utility provider has issued an advisory urging residents to disconnect or switch off sensitive electronic devices to prevent potential damage during the power cycles.

This disruption in Fuvahmulah follows similar electricity challenges recently observed in Addu City, where the administration has prioritized establishing a long-term solution. Fenaka officials stated that technical teams are working to address the generator issues and restore stable service to the city as quickly as possible.
