A 44-year-old male with a history of drug-related offenses has been apprehended once again, this time in possession of approximately 3.5 kilograms of narcotics. The suspect, identified as Fathuh Adam Hassanfulhu, was arrested following a police surveillance operation.

According to the remand order issued by the Criminal Court, the suspect was intercepted while traveling in a taxi to Hulhumalé. Police investigators observed Fathuh as he exited the vehicle, retrieved a box from the trunk, and placed it on the side of the road. Upon inspection, authorities discovered the substantial quantity of illicit substances.

The Criminal Court has ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody for a period of 15 days as the investigation proceeds. This is not the suspect’s first encounter with the law; he was previously arrested in April during a search of a residence in Malé, where approximately 38 grams of suspected drugs were found.

While Fathuh had been detained during the previous investigation in April, his subsequent release and the current status of that prior case remain unclear. The Maldives Police Service continues to investigate this latest trafficking attempt.
