President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended his heartfelt condolences following the passing of Ali Shafeeq, a retired magistrate who dedicated many years of service to the Maldivian judiciary. Mr. Shafeeq, a native of Dhaalu Meedhoo, passed away today at the age of 62.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the President expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and the legal community. He highlighted Mr. Shafeeq’s dual legacy as both a legal professional and a long-standing educator of the Holy Quran in Dhaalu Meedhoo and Hulhumale.

President Muizzu described the late magistrate as a respected Qari and a man of high character who was deeply loved by the community. He noted that Mr. Shafeeq’s contributions to both the judicial sector and religious education have left a lasting impact on the nation.

The funeral service for the late Ali Shafeeq is scheduled to take place tonight following the Isha prayer. The President concluded his message with a prayer for the deceased to be granted eternal peace in Paradise.
