President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu Inspects Progress of 4000 Housing Units

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today inspected the construction progress of 4000 housing units initiated under the previous government’s Gedhoruveryaa (Homeowner) Scheme.

According to the President’s Office, during his visit to the housing project site, the President was briefed on the latest updates regarding the completed work on the apartments.

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed and Health Minister Abdullah Nazim accompanied the President during the site visit.

On May 29, Housing Minister Dr. Abdullah Muttalib had stated that only 1000 units were completed at that time. He also mentioned that work was ongoing to provide water, sewerage, and electricity services to these units, with hopes of completing these utilities by July.

The Minister had further indicated plans to complete an additional 1000 units by the end of July and aimed to finish the entire 4000-unit project by September.

The current administration has decided to proceed with allocating the completed units to eligible recipients from the housing list published by the previous government in 2023.
