The ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has officially invited members to apply for 49 key positions within its High Council. The announcement was made by the party’s Senior Spokesperson, Mohamed Firzul Abdulla Khaleel, during a press briefing detailing the administrative roadmap for the upcoming party elections.

According to the spokesperson, the application window will remain open from September 1 to September 8, 2026. The positions available include six Vice Presidential slots and 18 general council seats. Furthermore, the party has designated specific quotas to ensure diverse representation, allocating seven seats for youth members and ten seats specifically for women.

Prospective candidates are required to submit their applications along with a copy of their national identity card, a recent photograph, and official criminal and court records. Khaleel emphasized that these records must have been cleared within the past 30 days to be considered valid for the internal election process.

Under the guidance of the Party Leader, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, various steering committees and party organs are actively preparing for the upcoming Congress. To assist members, the PNC also announced the establishment of a dedicated call center to provide information and support during the registration and application period.
