Ooredoo Nation Launches First-Ever Atoll Esports League in Maldives

Ooredoo Nation has opened registrations for the “Ooredoo Nation Atoll Esports League,” a first-of-its-kind tournament in the Maldives.

The tournament is a PUBG competition where teams from different islands across the Maldives can participate. This online tournament marks the first initiative allowing participants to compete in an esports event while remaining in their home islands.

Registration is now open through the Ooredoo Nation website, with entries being accepted until the fourth of next month.

The Ooredoo Nation Atoll Esports League will be conducted in four stages: Island Qualifiers, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Grand Finals.

The tournament offers a total prize pool of MVR 200,000, distributed as follows:
– Champion: MVR 25,000
– Runner-up: MVR 12,000
– Third Place: MVR 6,000
– Fourth Place: MVR 3,000
– MVP: MVR 4,000

Each participating team must have a minimum of six players. Teams from the same island must include their island name in the team name if multiple teams are participating. Teams are allowed to include up to two players from outside their island.

Ooredoo stated that the tournament aims to highlight local gaming communities across the Maldives. The company emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step in their efforts to create inclusive digital spaces for youth and gaming enthusiasts.

The company expressed optimism about receiving participation from teams representing numerous islands across the Maldives.
