The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has confirmed that temporary shelter and essential assistance have been provided to four individuals following a fire incident in Malé on Friday night.
The fire broke out in a seventh-floor apartment at H. Fahivai, located on Bodu Rasgefaanu Magu. According to official reports, the living room of the three-bedroom apartment sustained significant damage. While no civilians were injured, a police officer sustained a hand injury during the emergency response.
The NDMA stated that the four Maldivian nationals residing in the affected unit have been granted temporary housing and meal arrangements for a period of five days. Although smoke permeated several other floors of the building, authorities assessed that those areas remain safe for occupancy and did not require evacuation.
