Health Minister Must Work at National Level to Increase Birth Rate, Says Minister Nazim

Health Minister Abdullah Nazim has emphasized the need for national-level efforts to increase the country’s birth rate.

The Minister made these remarks while speaking at a ceremony held at Meeruma today to launch the State of the World Population (SWOP) Report.

Highlighting the concerning decline in birth rates in the Maldives, Minister Nazim stressed that addressing this issue requires coordinated efforts at the national level.

He added that if all stakeholders work together to address the challenges, every individual would have the opportunity to build a family.

The State of the World Population (SWOP) Report is an annual publication by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) that examines global population changes and related challenges.

The report focuses on sustainable development, reproductive health, human rights, and gender equality.
