The Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has announced temporary water service interruptions at several Hiyaa Towers in Hulhumalé Phase II tonight. The disruption is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance and upgrading of the meter rooms within the residential complex.

According to MWSC, the maintenance work will be conducted in three distinct phases to minimize broader impact. The first phase will affect Tower 2, specifically from the ground floor to the eighth floor, between 00:00 and 00:30. The second phase will move to Tower 7, where water will be cut for floors 8 through 16 from 00:30 to 01:00. The final phase will target Tower 10, impacting floors 8 to 16 from 01:00 to 01:30.

MWSC emphasized that each interruption is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. These upgrades are vital for ensuring long-term service reliability and maintaining the infrastructure of the towers, which were developed during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.

The utility company has issued an apology for any inconvenience caused to the residents. Given the high density of the population in the Hiyaa area, including many individuals with special needs, MWSC has urged residents to take note of the schedule and make necessary preparations in advance.
