The ambitious project for the Malé Wet Market Complex has officially been contracted for a sum of MVR 127 million. The agreement formalizing this significant development was signed today by the Ministry of Housing with Trusteng Maldives Private Limited.

Representing the Ministry of Housing at the signing ceremony was Permanent Secretary Mohamed Shamil. Trusteng Maldives Private Limited was represented by its Managing Director, Mohamed Abdul Haadhee, underscoring the collaborative effort behind this initiative.

The new complex is designated for construction at the site currently occupied by the local market, promising a transformative upgrade to the area’s infrastructure and commercial activity.

Upon its completion, the multi-level complex is designed to offer enhanced services and facilities. The ground floor will be dedicated to a modern fish market, catering to the needs of local fishermen and consumers. The second and third floors are slated to house a comprehensive vegetable market. Furthermore, the fourth floor will be developed to feature a variety of food courts, providing diverse culinary options for visitors.
