The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced the relocation of its cargo ferry services to the Henveiru Ferry Terminal, effective today. This adjustment is part of the ongoing redevelopment project for Ameenee Magu.

According to MTCC, the decision to shift operations aims to minimize disruptions for service users during the construction of Segment 1 of the Ameenee Magu project. These temporary arrangements will remain in effect until the completion of the road repairs in the area.

To facilitate the execution of the redevelopment project, a section of Ameenee Magu—stretching from the Voice of Maldives building at Izzudheen Magu to the parking zone near Dharmavantha Hospital—has been closed to public traffic. This closure has prompted significant traffic diversions across the capital.

In addition to cargo service changes, public transportation has also been affected. Bus Route-10 will bypass stops at the Social Centre, Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), and Dharmavantha Hospital until the initial phase of the project is concluded.
