Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced a public auction for a range of long-stay goods currently held at the Male’ Commercial Harbor. The auction includes several vehicles and various construction materials that have remained unclaimed for an extended period.

According to the list released by MPL, the auction features four cars: one Mercedes-Benz in good condition, along with two Nissan Dayz and one BMW which have sustained some degree of damage. In addition to the vehicles, the inventory includes 20 wooden doors, edge banding rolls, and multiple particle boards.

Interested parties are required to register their interest via the official MPL Auction Portal by 3:30 PM on July 21, 2026. Following registration, a mandatory physical inspection of the goods is scheduled for 4:30 PM on the same day. MPL highlighted that all individuals entering the harbor for inspection must comply with safety standards, which include wearing appropriate safety shoes or standard footwear.

The company further specified that only registered subscribers to the auction portal are eligible to participate. For items classified as scrap, successful bidders must comply with re-export regulations. Furthermore, buyers are responsible for obtaining any necessary legal documentation, such as chemical permits from the Ministry of Defence. A ten-day free storage period will be granted to winners to facilitate the clearing of their items.
