Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ismail Shafeeu, has announced that the new school building in B. Kamadhoo is scheduled for completion and will be ready for use within the second term of the current academic year.

While responding to a query from Member of Parliament for the Kendhoo constituency, Mauroof Zakir, during a parliamentary session, the Minister confirmed that the project’s planning and design phases have been finalized. He assured that physical construction on-site will commence at the start of the upcoming term, dismissing rumors of project stagnation as unfounded.

Dr. Shafeeu clarified that although the project was initially conceived by the previous administration, no budget had been allocated for it when the government changed in 2023. To rectify this, the current administration has formulated a specialized structural plan for 2024 to facilitate such underfunded initiatives.

Furthermore, in response to requests from parents and the local community, the project scope was expanded from its original design of two classrooms and an office to a larger facility featuring six classrooms and a dedicated administrative office. The Minister emphasized that the architectural design was optimized to make the best use of the available land and that the school management is being kept informed of all technical developments.
