The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has officially finalized the appointment of three new judges to the Criminal Court of the Maldives following a comprehensive selection process.

The recruitment process was initiated on the 6th of last month, with the application window closing on the 16th. After evaluating and interviewing several candidates, the Commission selected three individuals to fill the vacancies within the court’s bench.

The newly appointed judges are Ahmed Taufeeq (Daisymaage, H.A. Dhihdhoo), Mohamed Abdullah (Dream, Th. Veymandoo), and Sulaiman Mohamed (Nooraaneege, Lh. Kurendhoo).

Per the commission’s requirements, candidates were required to hold a first degree in either Islamic Sharia or Law, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience as a judge or legal practitioner. The appointees will receive a total monthly remuneration package, including salary and allowances, of MVR 60,000.
