An individual has been fined for the possession of a significant quantity of vapes and vape cartridges following a police operation in Hulhumale’ Phase 1.

Police intelligence led to an operation conducted last Friday on Chanbeely Magu. During the operation, two individuals were stopped and searched. Authorities discovered 106 vapes and 571 vape cartridges inside a box belonging to one of the individuals.

The person found with the contraband was subsequently fined MVR 2000 in connection with the case. However, no arrests were made at the time of the operation. Police have not disclosed the identity of the individual.

The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the matter is currently under active investigation.
