The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that an Indian national died following a tragic road accident on the highway connecting Hulhumale’ and Male’ on Monday night.

Authorities received the report of the collision at approximately 10:12 PM on May 13, 2026. Preliminary investigations indicate the accident occurred when a motorcycle skidded and fell, resulting in the rider being crushed under a pickup truck traveling in the vicinity.

The victim has been identified as a 50-year-old male. Police have stated that the individual succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident is currently underway.
