The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has officially announced the imams designated to lead the Eid al-Adha prayer congregations at four major outdoor locations in the Greater Male’ region. The prayers are scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM on the morning of Eid.

According to the Ministry, Sheikh Abdulla Saudhaan will lead the large-scale congregation at the Maafannu Stadium in Male’. In Villimale’, the prayer will be led by Al-Qari Ahmed Riyadh at the local football ground. For residents of Hulhumale’, Sheikh Nasrulla Ali has been appointed to lead the congregation at the Phase 1 Synthetic Track, while Al-Hafiz Mohamed Hanun Hussain will preside over the prayer at the Phase 2 Sports Complex.

In addition to these outdoor venues, Eid prayers will also be conducted at two of the capital’s largest mosques. Chief Imam Sheikh Mohamed Latheef will lead the prayer at the Islamic Centre, and Sheikh Ibrahim Rashid Hassan will lead the congregation at the King Salman Mosque.

The Ministry further noted that in the event of inclement weather, where outdoor gatherings are not feasible, Eid prayers will be held in all mosques across Male’, Villimale’, and Hulhumale’ that typically host Friday prayers. This year, Eid al-Adha falls on the 27th of the current month.
