The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced that the major road development project surrounding the 4,000 social housing units is scheduled for completion by the end of this year. The initiative is aimed at facilitating a seamless transition for residents as they move into the newly developed area.

According to HDC, the project is being executed in nine distinct phases. Substantial progress has been made in road paving, with 95 percent of the work completed across Zones 1 through 6. In Zone 7, which includes Reethigas Magu, approximately 35 percent of the paving is finished. The scope of the project also extends to the construction of sidewalks and the development of dedicated parking spaces for vehicles.

The corporation’s Projects Department is closely monitoring the installation of street lighting, which is currently 85 percent complete. HDC noted that the remaining fixtures will be installed once the work on Diguthyara Magu is concluded. The 4,000 housing units, developed by Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), comprise 32 sixteen-story towers offering both two- and three-bedroom apartments.

Occupancy has already commenced in several towers, including ‘Aman Dhodhi’ and ‘Aman Udhares.’ To ensure resident comfort, HDC and FDC confirmed that all utilities, such as electricity and water, are fully connected prior to the handover of keys. Furthermore, FDC is currently engaged in landscaping and greening efforts to enhance the living environment for the new community.
