The Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development has officially commenced the verification process for applications submitted for the ‘Housing for All’ initiative. This phase involves cross-referencing applicant data with official state records to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the information provided.

Following the application deadline on June 15, the Ministry received a total of 58,505 applications. This includes 35,930 requests for flats and 22,575 for land plots. Officials are currently engaged in a comprehensive cross-verification exercise to validate each submission against departmental databases to maintain transparency in the allocation process.

Under this major housing scheme, 7,900 flats are set to be allocated across various categories. These include 4,000 units reserved for native residents of Male’, 1,500 for long-term residents of the capital, and 2,400 units for other designated categories. Additionally, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to provide 25,000 land plots from Rasmale’, with 15,000 plots scheduled for distribution in the initial phase. Ensuring accessible housing remains a cornerstone of the current administration’s policy agenda.
