Maldives Police Service has apprehended four suspects in connection with a high-profile theft at Nalahiya Residence on Majeedhee Magu, where MVR 4 million was reportedly stolen.

The incident was initially reported to authorities on March 16. During the subsequent investigation, police confirmed that while the total amount stolen reached MVR 4,000,000, only MVR 50,000 has been successfully recovered to date.

Five individuals have been implicated in the heist. Four suspects are currently in custody, identified as Mohamed Noor Ahmed (40), Mohamed Afrah (40), Ismail Asif (36), and Ahmed Faris (39). Police are actively searching for a fifth suspect who remains at large.

Authorities have indicated that a significant portion of the investigation is now complete. The Maldives Police Service is currently finalizing the case to be forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office for formal charges.
