Maldives Police Service has apprehended four individuals following a coordinated narcotics operation conducted across Malé and Hulhumalé. The operation was a joint effort between the Drug Enforcement Department and Counter Narcotics Intelligence, executed over the past week.

The suspects have been identified as Ahmed Jinah (43), Ahmed Saeed (28), Mohamed Anoof Ali (27), and Ahmed Maeish Rasheed (28). Authorities stated that the arrests were made under court orders following investigations into the use, possession, and trafficking of illicit substances.

Upon being presented to the court to determine their remand status, Ahmed Jinah and Ahmed Saeed were ordered into custody for 15 days. Meanwhile, Mohamed Anoof Ali and Ahmed Maeish Rasheed were remanded for a period of five days. The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
