A section of the residence M. Landofgarden in Malé has been ordered to close following allegations that the premises were being used as a service point for the consumption of illicit drugs. The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the court order was issued under the provisions of the Drug Act.

The closure, which came into effect on July 13, 2026, is scheduled to remain in place for a duration of three months, concluding on October 11, 2026. Authorities stated that this enforcement action is part of an ongoing strategic initiative by the Maldives Police Service to dismantle and seal locations operating as “drug cafes” within the capital city.

According to police records, this is the sixth property to be shuttered under court mandate since May 2026. Previously closed locations include H. Gunzar, M. Tharivillage, portions of M. Ameera Manzil, Ma. Seven and House, and a specific room on the first floor of H. Kandufinige. Under the current legal framework, any unauthorized entry into these sealed premises during the closure period constitutes a criminal offense.
