German airline Condor is set to recommence its direct flight operations to the Maldives, aligning with the upcoming European summer season. These flights are an integral part of Condor’s long-haul schedule for the year.

Starting in May, Condor will operate four weekly flights from Frankfurt, Germany, to Velana International Airport in the Maldives. The airline confirmed that these services are being launched in close collaboration with key German travel agents and tour operators, aiming to bolster tourist arrivals.

Condor holds historical significance for Maldivian tourism as one of the oldest airlines to initiate direct routes to the island nation, maintaining an almost uninterrupted service since the 1980s. This enduring presence has been a pivotal factor in the significant growth and expansion of the German market within the Maldivian tourism sector.

Highlighting the importance of the German market, the Maldives recorded Germany among its top five source markets for tourist arrivals last year, underscoring the strong appeal of the destination to German travelers.
