STO Assures Resolution to Cooking Gas Supply Issues by Next Week, Denies Scarcity
The State Trading Organisation (STO) has announced that issues related to the supply of cooking gas are expected to be resolved by next week, assuring the public of continuous availability. The organisation also refuted reports of an existing scarcity.
Supply Assurance
STO stated that 10-kilogramme gas cylinders would be available for purchase starting from next week. The company acknowledged global supply chain disruptions impacting gas availability worldwide, which have led to fluctuations in supply.
Market Stability and Ramadan Preparations
Despite these international challenges, STO affirmed its commitment to collaborating with the other gas importing company in the Maldives. This collaboration aims to ensure that gas continues to be sold at controlled prices within the country.
The organisation reiterated its annual efforts to prepare for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, aiming to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of gas in the market during this period. STO provided assurance that citizens would not face any difficulties in obtaining gas this year.
Denial of Scarcity
STO explicitly denied claims circulating about current gas scarcity, stating that such reports are unfounded.
