The State Pharmaceutical and Medical Supply Corporation (State Pharma) has officially signed a strategic agreement with HPL, a renowned Bangladeshi pharmaceutical firm, to ensure the uninterrupted supply of high-quality medication across the Maldives. This partnership aims to strengthen the national healthcare system by diversifying the country’s medical procurement channels.
Under the new agreement, State Pharma will expand its international supply network and streamline import processes. The corporation stated that this move is a vital step toward securing essential medicines for the public and introducing world-class healthcare products to the Maldivian market. Building alliances with globally recognized manufacturers remains a core objective for the advancement of the local health sector.
HPL is a trusted name in the global pharmaceutical industry, currently exporting products to more than 32 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia. In a further bid to enhance medical security, State Pharma also recently concluded high-level discussions with the European pharmaceutical giant, AstraZeneca.

Additionally, the corporation has confirmed that physical work has commenced on the construction of regional medical warehouses across various sectors of the Maldives to improve localized distribution.
