State Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supply Corporation (State Pharma) has held high-level discussions with the Serum Institute of India (SII) to strengthen the procurement and supply of essential vaccines and pharmaceutical products to the Maldives.
The meeting took place during an official visit by Sandeep Muley, Director of International Business at SII. Discussions focused on identifying opportunities to enhance the reliability of the national vaccine supply and streamlining the procurement systems for medicines and medical equipment. Both parties also explored potential collaborations for upcoming public health initiatives and programs.
The Serum Institute of India is recognized as the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer and serves as a primary supplier for global vaccination programs supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations. The institute is renowned for producing high-quality vaccines essential for maintaining public health security.
According to State Pharma, this engagement is a strategic step toward expanding its international supplier network and building robust partnerships with leading global pharmaceutical firms. The primary objective of these efforts is to ensure that the Maldivian public has uninterrupted and sustainable access to safe, high-quality medical supplies and vaccines.
