MALÉ, MALDIVES – A Sri Lankan national working at a barbershop in S. Feydhoo, Addu City, has embraced Islam, with his conversion announced today by the Mishkath Foundation.

Jayasinghe Arachchige Waruna, employed at Naya Saloon, converted to Islam by reciting the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith. Following his conversion, he has adopted the name Abdullah Adam.

The Mishkath Foundation, an organisation actively involved in religious propagation within the Maldives, confirmed the details of Mr. Waruna’s conversion.

Previous Conversion Noted

This event follows another recent conversion reported prior to the current Ramadan. A European female tourist visiting K. Dhiffushi, Kaafu Atoll, also embraced Islam by reciting the Shahada during her stay.
