Maldivian authorities have launched an extensive search operation for two individuals reported missing after a landing craft traveling from K. Thilafushi encountered distress near K. Gaafaru. The Maldives Police Service confirmed that the incident was reported today at approximately 08:48 AM.
The vessel, carrying a total of ten people, began taking on water and subsequently sank. While eight individuals have been successfully rescued and are in stable condition, two remain unaccounted for.
