The Raajje Transport Link (RTL) service officially commenced operations in Faafu (F.) and Dhaalu (D.) Atolls today. The service was inaugurated by Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen during ceremonies held in Dhaalu Meedhoo and Faafu Nilandhoo.

Inauguration and Initial Services

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) announced that residents can utilise the service free of charge until the 25th of this month. Bookings for these complimentary services must be made through the respective atoll councils. Following this initial period, travel will require tickets purchased via the RTL mobile application.

MTCC also specified that RTL services would not operate on Fridays. Furthermore, services would be suspended tomorrow should the holy month of Ramadhan commence.

Service Coverage and Future Plans

With the expansion into Faafu and Dhaalu Atolls, the RTL service is now operational across an increased number of regions within the Maldives. The service is currently yet to be extended to Kaafu (K.), Alifu Alifu (AA.), Alifu Dhaalu (ADh.), Vaavu (V.), Meemu (M.), and Laamu (L.) Atolls.

MTCC confirmed that preparations are underway to introduce the RTL service to these remaining atolls, aiming for broader nationwide connectivity.
