Mohamed Mustafa, a resident of R. Inguraidhoo, has issued a public appeal for financial assistance to support his mother’s ongoing battle with cancer. The family is seeking help to cover the costs of urgent medical tests and specialized treatment required abroad.

Speaking with local media, Mustafa, a person with disabilities, explained that his mother has undergone monthly chemotherapy sessions in Malé for the past eight months. However, doctors have now advised the family to travel overseas without delay for critical diagnostic tests and further medical intervention.

While the national health insurance scheme, Aasandha, provides some coverage, the family has been hit by severe financial strain due to the prolonged nature of the illness and continuous travel expenses. Mustafa noted that they currently lack the means to cover additional costs, including airfare, accommodation, and daily living expenses while abroad.
