President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that next year will witness the highest number of infrastructure and development projects reaching completion across the Maldives.

Speaking during the sixth episode of the President’s Office podcast series ‘The Pulse,’ President Muizzu highlighted that development initiatives are currently underway from the northernmost to the southernmost atolls. While several projects are slated for conclusion by the end of this year, the President emphasized that the upcoming year would be a significant milestone for project finalization.

Addressing the state of local governance infrastructure, the President noted that many island council offices were in a state of neglect when his administration took office. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to modernizing these facilities, expressing hope that newly constructed council buildings would be operational by mid-2027.

Furthermore, President Muizzu projected that within the next two years, approximately 100 islands would transition their local administrative operations into modern, newly built council offices.
