President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the spirit of unity fostered during Eid al-Adha serves as the most powerful force for ensuring peace and harmony across the Maldives. In a formal address to the nation on the occasion of the blessed holiday, the President extended his heartfelt greetings to the Maldivian people and the wider Islamic Ummah.

Emphasizing the importance of celebrating within religious boundaries, President Muizzu advised citizens to uphold time-honored Maldivian traditions and sports while distancing themselves from foreign customs. He noted that the true objective of Eid is to achieve spiritual purification, prioritize religious obligations, and foster a sense of piety.

The President further highlighted that the occasion serves as an exemplary model of equality, drawing parallels to the gathering at the plains of Arafat. He underscored that acts of charity, such as the sacrifice of livestock (Udhiya) and the exchange of gifts, are vital for strengthening the social fabric of the community. In his message, the President also called for compassion towards the lonely, moral guidance for the youth, and the prioritization of forgiveness to maintain national stability.
