President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the First Lady have departed for Saudi Arabia on Saturday morning to perform the sacred Umrah pilgrimage. The spiritual journey is being conducted under the special hospitality of the Saudi Arabian government.

According to the President’s Office, the Saudi government is facilitating the trip and covering all associated expenses for the First Couple. This visit underscores the deep-rooted religious and diplomatic ties between the Maldives and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The President’s Office further confirmed that all logistical arrangements for the pilgrimage were finalized in early February. The First Couple is expected to engage in religious rites in the holy cities during their stay in the Kingdom.
