Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has stated that the upcoming People’s National Congress (PNC) congress will serve as the strategic foundation for securing a victory in the 2028 presidential elections.

In an exclusive interview with MM TV, Minister Saeed emphasized that the party’s current focus remains on delivering a successful and beneficial administration for the public. He noted that despite inheriting a fragile economy, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is implementing exemplary measures to ensure national stability and progress.

Furthermore, Saeed expressed confidence that the current five-year term would witness the highest number of development projects in Maldivian history. He asserted that through internal restructuring and the combined experience of the party’s leadership and general membership, the PNC would emerge as a formidable and united force heading into 2028.

The upcoming gathering is described as the largest political congress to be held in the Maldives, with more than 1,100 delegates expected to attend. The congress will facilitate the election of senior party positions, including vice presidents, departmental heads, and representatives for the party’s senate.
